I have been working in the medical field for 36 years and have had the opportunity to be involved in many projects. Below are only three of my most recent and ongoing projects that I am privileged to be able to lead.

Project 01
West Lincoln Memorial Hospital New Build
The current West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, one of five hospitals at Hamilton Health Sciences located in Grimsby, Ont, is over 70 years old. The facility offers both outpatient and inpatient services, emergency services, a maternal and newborn program, surgery, and complex and palliative care. The proposed facility would nearly double the hospital’s size, from 65,000 sq. ft. to roughly 120,000 sq. ft. according to the stage 2 plan submission. The new hospital, according to the plan, would be built behind the current facility. Once the new hospital is built, the current hospital would be demolished.
Project  02
West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Operating Room upgrades

In October 2019, Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) received funding from the Ontario government to redevelop West Lincoln Memorial Hospital’s (WLMH) operating rooms and endoscopy reprocessing area in order to meet critical standards for patient safety.

This involved approximately six months work which was also impacted by the COVID pandemic outbreak.

Project  03
Medical Device Reprocessing of U/S Probes

Automated high-level disinfection is the method of choice when reprocessing ultrasound transducer probes. It provides consistent results and significantly reduces the possibility of human error, as well as protecting staff from chemical vapour. Presently in many organizations this is being completed by an ultrasound technologist. The CSA standards stipulate that this should be completed by a certified medical device reprocessing technician (CMDRT)
